BYD Sales Drop 45% In China
Sales of the Chinese manufacturer BYD in its domestic market of models with internal combustion engines decreased by 45% in the period from January to June with 82,419 cars.
However, BYD managed to increase its profits by 204% during the first half of this year compared to the first half of the previous year, thanks to the increase in sales of environmentally friendly models in China significantly.
Net profit was 1.45 million Yuan (205.29 million US dollars), up from 479.10 million Yuan last year.
The company’s products include fully electric and hybrid Plage models. The company sold 145,653 units from January to June, up 95 percent from the same period last year. Revenue rose 15 percent from 54.15 to 62.18 billion Yuan.
